Too much time on my hands....

I need a hobby. I do not have one, and I find myself with hours to do something, but I have nothing to do. Brandon has picked up golf and loves it, so I need something that I can do at the house or around here (hello... gas is expensive) that will keep me busy. Yes, I could pick up the house, do laundry, etc. but I want something fun to do. I have always been "crafty" and so I am thinking that I need to expand my horizons a bit. Anyone have a hobby that keeps you occupied without too much startup cost? I have a sewing machine, but I can't think of anything to sew. I have scrapbooking stuff, but for this month at least (like that fun innuendo?) we do not have the sapce for me to work on it, so I end up sitting on the floor and hurt like an old lady when I get up. Please help me out... give me some ideas...

Have you thought about crochet or knitting? I know it sounds super old lady...but it is cheap to get started and really relaxing. And...it's a great way to make gifts for other people! I taught myself the last time my mom was in the hospital from a book that I checked out from the library. And...as you are far craftier than I am...if I can do it...you can certainly do it!

I have totally been thinking about knitting... I am a little inimidated by it though... you didn't find it too hard to grasp?

You know....it was far easier than I thought it would be. It took me a while to get the basic stitch...but after that I picked up several other types pretty quickly. You can do a lot of cute and trendy scarves with that fringed yarn...so cute! I recommend getting a book...and maybe trying to find someone that could teach you the basic stitch. Or...just fly to Alaska and we can knit together! ha.

Your blog is so cute-- what about digital scrapbooking? It is on the computer instead of having to haul a bunch of stuff out! I have just started this and love it! My husband likes it too because we don't have to clear the table to sit down and eat!
BTW-- Those RED canisters are from a store super close to you (in Muleshoe) called Something Special. I got them a few years ago, but I know they still carried them last summer! Thanks for the sweet comments!

I have tons of crafty ideas, it's just that mine never look so cute. I love to try though!! ;) I've enjoyed doing canvas paintings with scriptures, as gifts, etc. I also like to sew. Of course I get through one project and I'm ready for another oh.....6-10 months later. I usually get all wrapped up in making one thing and then I over do it and get tired of the "work" involved. UGH. I have a link on my blog for the Tip Junkie and she always has cute ideas on her blog. Check it out!
